At the National D-Day Memorial, pay tribute to those soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in Normandy, 1944.
There will be a ceremony at the site and tours throughout the day.

Wake Forest MBA Movies In The Park (7:00PM)
Wake Forest MBA Movies in the Park. On the second Friday of every month, May through October, Elmwood Park will feature a new movie – FREE. That’s right, FREE. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a movie under the stars. Seating starts at 7:00 p.m. and the movie will begin at dark. Enjoy hotdogs, pizza, fresh popcorn, candy, drinks and more with our onsite concessionaire Fun Time Rentals and Productions. Celebration At The Station (11:00AM - 11:59PM)
“Celebration at the Station”
Come out to the O. Winston Link Museum and historic train station for Celebration at the Station, a festival to honor Roanoke’s rail heritage and remember the days of the steam locomotive. You might even enjoy some cotton candy or fresh lemonade along the way.
Celebration 2008 will include 1/8 scale locomotive rides, a NS exhibition car, garden scale trains, our own red caboose, as well as other historical rail entertainment. For children we’ll have a miniature golf course, caricatures, face painting, and a balloon twister. Link and other rail merchandise will be available for purchase. Live music will permeate the grounds and we’ll have food and drinks for sale. This event will include something for everyone and should not be missed!
Celebration 2008 will take place on May 10, 2008 and will happen from 11am to 2pm behind the O. Winston Link Museum by the tracks. Admission will be five dollars; with one dollar off if you bring a non-perishable food item for donation to the Southwest Virginia Harvest Food Bank!
