Smith Mountain Lake State Park The beach at Smith Mountain Lake State Park is one of the most popular places for swimming in the area. It is located in Bedford County off of Route 122 (north of the Hales Ford Bridge) to Route 608 (Whitehouse Road) and a right onto Smith Mountain Parkway (Route 626). The State Park offers swimming area (beach), fishing, cabin rental, boat rental, walking trails, and more.

For more information on the State Park click link here Smith Mountain Lake Community Park From Westlake Corner (at the intersection of Route 122 and Scruggs Road) turn east onto Scruggs Road (Route 616) for approximately 4.7 miles. Turn left on Blue Water Drive for 1.1 miles. Turn right on Saunders Farm Road for 4/10 mile. At the stop sign, turn right onto Winding Waters Drive for 4/10 mile. Turn left onto parkway Avenue for 1 mile. The park is located at the end of the road. The community park offers swimming, a playground, hiking, jogging, walking, fishing, a picnic shelter, and restrooms are availble on the premises.
